Reducing regulatory control over academic programs of state institutions [HB-2770]
The purpose of this bill is to reduce regulatory control over academic programs of state institutions. The bill provides that the powers of the Higher Education Policy Commission and the powers and duties of governing boards generally apply to state institutions of higher education under their jurisdiction only in so far as it is necessary to prevent expensive duplication and competition of academic programs in a region or for support of specified performance higher education goals.
