Relating to the regulation of firearms and other deadly weapons [HB-4325]
The purpose of this bill is to repeal the requirement of obtaining a license to carry a concealed weapon. This bill prohibits individuals who are prohibited by state law from possessing firearms from carrying any concealed weapon other than a firearm outside the person's residence or fixed place of business, increases the penalty for possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a prohibited possessor from a misdemeanor to a felony and, provides additional means of obtaining relief from disabilities. Relating to the regulation of carrying firearms [HB-4280]
The purpose of this bill is to clarify the applicability of certain hunting regulations to the carrying of firearms. This bill repeals limitations on how handguns may be carried in vehicles or in wooded areas or while bowhunting and clarifies miscellaneous other firearm regulations to only apply to rifles and shotguns. This bill also exempts individuals licensed or otherwise authorized to carry concealed weapons from certain regulations on the manner in which other firearms may be carried or transported in wooded areas or vehicles.
