Exempts the sales of mobility enhancing equipment sold by prescription, prosthetic devices, prescription drugs sold pursuant to a prescription, diabetic supplies, medical oxygen, human blood and its derivatives, and durable medical equipment, from the general excise tax for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2018. Relating To The Vehicle Weight Tax Exemption For Military Personnel. [SB-603]
Repeals the requirement that a member of the National Guard, military reserve, or armed forces must be assigned to a unit in the State in order to qualify for a vehicle weight tax exemption. Clarifies that the vehicle weight tax exemption is available to service members who claim Hawaii as their residence of record.
