The purpose of this bill is to provide for innovation zones for county school systems who are under a state of emergency. The bill authorizes the State Board of Education to select a county school system to serve as a county innovation zone pilot project. The bill authorizes the State Board of Education to promulgate rules and emergency rules. The bill provides procedure and criteria for application and selection as a county innovation zone. Increasing compensation of county board of education members for certain meeting attendance [SB-328]
The purpose of this bill is to increase the amount of compensation members of county boards of education may receive for attending certain meetings. The bill increases from $100 to $200 the amount a board member may receive for attending council meetings of a regional education service agency if he or she also serves on that council. Changing certain deadlines associated with the termination, resignation and transfer of school personnel [HB-4583]
The purpose of this bill is to make the dates related to certain deadlines associated with the termination, resignation and transfer of school personnel and rehiring of probationary employees on month later in the year (eg. March 1 instead of February 1). The bill also makes the last date for employed teachers to leave one position to accept another within the system twenty days prior to beginning of instructional term, rather than five.
