The bill includes instructional leadership among the duties and responsibilities of principals and assistants and requires instruction in their certification requirements. The instruction must include the standards for high quality schools, the school accreditation process and strategic planning for continuous improvement. Relieving the county superintendent of schools of the duty of nominating personnel to be employed by the county board [HB-2525]
The purpose of this bill is to relieve the county superintendent of schools of the duty of nominating personnel to be employed by the county board. The bill authorizes the county board to employ a human resources director to receive job applications, qualifications and other pertinent information for principals, vice-principals and other administrative positions. The human resources director then submits this information to the county board which may determine the persons to be hired.

The purpose of this bill is to grant the Insurance Commissioner the power to regulate and penalize self-insured employers. The bill also permits noncompliant employers to be compliant without penalty within ninety days after receiving notice of noncompliance. The bill also provides for monetary penalties.
