Hardrock Mining and Reclamation Act of 2015 [S.2254]
Hardrock Mining and Reclamation Act of 2015 This bill prohibits the United States from issuing a patent for any mining claim, millsite, or tunnel site located unless a patent application meeting all applicable requirements was filed with the Department of the Interior by September 30, 1994. The holder of each unpatented mining claim, millsite, or tunnel site shall pay Interior a maintenance fee of $150 for each claim, millsite, or tunnel site, as well as a location fee of $50. Family Unification, Preservation, and Modernization Act of 2015 This bill amends the United States Housing Act of 1937 with respect to the Family Unification Program (FUP) under which eligible youth aged 18-24 who left foster care at age 16 or older and who lack adequate housing may receive Housing Choice Vouchers (for section 8 tenant-based or project-based assistance) for a period of time. Spectrum Challenge Prize Act of 2015 This bill requires the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to conduct prize competitions to accelerate the development and commercialization of technology that improves spectrum efficiency and is capable of cost-effective deployment. Not more than $5 million, in the aggregate, may be awarded to prize competition winners. This bill entitles a border patrol agent or Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer who is assigned to a rural area through which illicit narcotics and undocumented aliens are routinely smuggled to hardship duty pay.
