In 2009, New Hampshire was the first state to develop a statewide Gun Shop Project, reaching out to gun shops regarding the role they can play in suicide prevention. In the years since, at least 21 other states have implemented similar campaigns. This Act establishes the Delaware Gun Shop Project (Project), under which the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (Division) must develop relevant materials that may be posted conspicuously and available for distribution at Delaware gun shops.

This Act increases the non-refundable income tax credit from $400 to $500 for active members of Delaware volunteer fire, ambulance, or rescue service company or its auxiliary. This Act also makes technical changes to conform existing law to the standards of the Delaware Legislative Drafting Manual.

An Act To Amend Title 14 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The Provision Of Free Feminine Hygiene Products. [HB-285]
This bill requires all public and charter schools which have students in grades 6-12 to provide free feminine hygiene products in 50% of the bathrooms used by students who can have a menstrual cycle. This bill also requires schools to publish on its website and post in its common areas the locations of the bathrooms where the hygiene products are provided. Finally, this bill provides that each school must consult with its school nurse regarding the products to be provided.

This Act clarifies that a person with a special license plate or permit for persons with disabilities which limit or impair the ability to walk may park for an unlimited period where the length of time is otherwise limited and must be able to park in a metered parking space for at least 1 hour. This Act clarifies that it is a violation of the state equal accommodations law to prohibit parking as authorized for a person with a special license plate or permit for persons with disabilities which limit or impair the ability to walk.

An Act To Amend Title 13 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Marriage License Application. [SB-194]
This Act removes the requirement that applicants for a marriage license state their race as part of the application process. Delaware is one of a small number of states that currently requires this information.
