The Delaware Health Resources Board determined there was a need in Kent County for additional in-patient rehabilitation services to treat patients who have suffered stroke, traumatic brain, orthopedic, and other such injuries and/or undergone surgical procedures requiring rehabilitation as well as follow-up out-patient services for those patients. This Act meets this need by eliminating the need for additional review by the Delaware Health Resources Board for a 34 bed in-patient rehabilitation hospital in Dover, which previously received a certificate

The Omnibus School Safety Program under Title 29, Chapter 82, 8237(g) requires a yearly progress report to be submitted to the General Assembly by May 31. The Department of Safety and Homeland Security has determined that the due date does not coincide with the school calendar year which ends in June. An Act To Amend Title 9 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Dangerous Dogs. [SB-29]
This bill restores language to the Delaware Code that was inadvertently repealed in 2010 when SB 240 and HB 419 were enacted concurrently. This bill adds cats to the list of domestic animals that are protected under the dangerous dog law. Cats are domestic animals and dogs that viciously attack a cat on the property of its owner or under the immediate control of its owner should be evaluated according to dangerous dog provisions.

An Act To Amend Chapter 214, Volume 78 Of The Laws Of Delaware Relating To Educator Licensure And Certification. [SB-31]
This bill repeals the sunset provision included in Chapter 214, Volume 78 of the Laws of Delaware, which will continue to enable the Teach For America (TFA) program to recruit and train teachers from Delaware schools and from across the nation to teach in Delaware. This bill maintains the requirement that Teach For America corps members in Delaware complete Teach For America’s pre-service training of not less than 200 hours in order to be in compliance with the pre-service requirement to which other alternative route to teacher licensure candidates
