Requesting The Department Of Natural Resources And Environmental Control (dnrec) Pause And Reconsider The Process Of Promulgating The California Advanced Clean Car Ii (accii) Regulations That Seek To Restrict, And Ultimately Eliminate, The Sale And Registration Of New Light-duty Fuel-powered Vehicles In Delaware By Model Year 2035. This resolution requests that the Department of Natural Resources pause its ongoing process of promulgating California ACCII regulations. The Department is requested to determine the fiscal impacts of imposing the ACCII regulations on Delawareans. A further request is made that the Department evaluate the approach taken by Pennsylvania and Colorado, two states that, like Delaware, have chosen to follow California vehicle emissions regulations under Section 177 of the U.S. Clean Air Act. An Act To Amend Titles 11 And 15 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Criminal History Background Checks For Candidates For State And County Public Office. [HB-141]
This Act requires all candidates for statewide office, the General Assembly, and all elected county offices, to request a criminal history background check, no later than the filing deadline, from the State Bureau of Identification. The State Bureau of Identification must, within 10 days of receipt of the request, provide the Commissioner of Elections with a report of the candidates criminal history or a statement that the Bureaus Repository contains no information relating to the candidate. An Act To Amend Title 14 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Exemption From The Delaware Child Care Act For Sectarian Or Religious Institutions. [SB-69]
In 2021, the General Assembly enacted a law, Chapter 249 of Volume 83 of the Laws of Delaware (Senate Bill 169 of the 151st General Assembly) to update and expand the definition of child care to include early education programs for children below the grade of kindergarten that are operated by public or private schools, including sectarian or religious institutions. This law takes effect on July 1, 2024.
