In May 2014, the Department of Health and Social Services (“Department”) promulgated the State of Delaware Food Code, 4458, Title 16 of the Delaware Administrative Code. The State of Delaware Food Code requires all food establishments required to be permitted by the Department to have a certified food protection manager. This Act would require the Department to exempt charitable and fraternal organizations from this requirement. An Act To Amend Title 16 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Medical Marijuana. [SB-90]
This Act adds intractable epilepsy to the list of debilitating medical conditions for which a physician may supply a written certification for medical marijuana. It also specifically adds disorders such as dystonia which are characterized by involuntary muscle contractions that cause slow, repetitive movements or abnormal postures. Currently no form of medical marijuana is legally available for those with debilitating medical conditions if they are under 18 years old. An Act To Amend Title 14 Of The Delaware Code Relating To A Military Connected Identifier In Delaware Public Schools [SB-94]
This Act requires the Department to develop a regulation for the identification of a “military-connected youth”. The Act further provides that this identification is not a public record, is protected by the federal Family Educational and Privacy Act and shall not be used for purposes of determining school achievement, growth or performance. The purpose of this identification is to ensure the necessary individuals at the school level are aware of any military connected youth for services and supports.
