An Act To Amend Title 19 Of The Delaware Code Relatng To Workers' Compensation Benefits. [SB-202]
This Act ensures that the spouses of those killed in the line of duty are able to receive benefits for the remainder of their lives regardless of future marital status. When a surviving spouse remarries, the surviving spouse's benefit is reduced to 90% of the original benefit for the first 10 years after the remarrying and must be reduced to 75% of the original benefit thereafter until the death of the surviving spouse. Spouses of fallen first responders should not be forced to make decisions to carry on with their lives based on financial considerations.

An Act To Amend Title 29 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The Division Of Forensic Science. [SB-214]
The Division of Forensic Science (Division) produces numerous postmortem examination reports, autopsy reports, and laboratory reports annually. Given the high volume, and consistent with National Association of Medical Examiners accreditation standards, this Act expands the period of time within which the Medical Examiner must complete a written report from 30 to 90 days.

An Act To Amend Title 29 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Service Pensions For Certain State Employees. [SB-22]
This bill establishes a 20 year retirement for correction officers and specified peace officers. The bill amends the multiplier for calculation of state employee pension benefits for correction officers and specified peace officers from either 1.85%, 2.0% or 2.45% to a uniform 2.5% for the first 20 years, plus 3.5% for years beyond 20 years. The increased multipliers reflect increased costs, reduced benefits and the need to recruit and retain qualified and competent correction officers and specified peace officers with a modernized pension benefit. Since 1973, § 9605(b) of Title 9 of the Delaware Code (§ 9605) has prohibited the recordation of instruments that restrict the sale, gift, transfer, assignment, conveyance, ownership, lease, rental, use, or occupancy of real property to or by any person because of the persons race, color, creed, sex, national origin, or ancestry.

An Act To Amend Title 11 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The State Bureau Of Identification. [SB-247]
This Act, consistent with longstanding practice throughout the State expressly recognized in the existing statute, clarifies the manner in which criminal justice agencies may inform the public of information related to arrests. In addition, this Act provides the State Bureau of Identification the ability to share information with the Federal government to maintain on-going monitoring of individuals who have already undergone background checks.
