An Act To Amend Title 24 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The Imposition Of Fines By The Board Of Medical Practice. [SB-298]
This act increases the incentive for persons with a mandatory reporting obligation under the Medical Practice Act to comply with their obligation under that Act. Sections 1 and 2 of the bill give the Board of Medical Practice additional flexibility to impose appropriate fines by increasing the range of fines from a maximum of $5,000 to a maximum of $10,000 for a first violation and $50,000 for a subsequent violation. This Bill amends Chapter 18, Title 28 of the Delaware Code as it relates to Texas Hold’em Poker. Eliminates the no limit phase from the chapter making the game Texas Hold’em Poker. Adds definitions to the Chapter and allows the Board to set fees for Texas Hold’em Games. Mandates that facilities only conduct one (1) tournament a day. Allows organizations to have five (5) tournaments per calendar year instead of four (4). Establishes sit-and-go games and clarifies a year is a calendar year. The State of Delaware currently requires lead poisoning screening for children at 12 months of age. Because many children are not yet sufficiently mobile prior to 12 months of age to have full exposure to potential lead hazards in their environments, it has become common practice in other states to test some children at higher risk for lead exposure at 24 months of age as well. This Bill amends Title 28, Chapters 11 and 15 of the Delaware Code as it relates to charitable gambling as defined under the authority of the Delaware Gaming Control Board.
