An Act To Amend Title 14 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The Mandatory Reporting Of School Crimes. [HB-347]
This Act implements recommendations of the Legislative Subcommittee of the School Discipline Task Force created by House Resolution No. 22 of the 145th General Assembly. Under current Delaware law, school officials have a mandatory obligation to report to the police and, in certain instances, initiate criminal prosecution of specific misdemeanor offenses (Assault in the 3rd Degree, Unlawful Sexual Contact in the 3rd Degree, Offensive Touching and Terroristic Threatening) committed by students over the age of 9. An Act To Amend Title 30 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Economic Development Incentives. [HB-380]
This proposed tax credit intends to create incentives for existing businesses to partner with the State in the effort to create new employment opportunities for Delaware citizens, and to stimulate the Delaware economy by expanding the tax base. A finder’s fee, a tool used commonly by businesses, is an arrangement by which an intermediary finds, introduces, and brings together parties to a business opportunity. An Act To Amend Title 29 Of The Delaware Code Relating To State Government [HB-384]
This Act amends the provisions of the Delaware Code relating to the criteria that the General Assembly must apply in determining the reapportionment and redistricting for the State. The Act provides that the General Assembly may not count as part of the population in a given district boundary any incarcerated individual who was not a resident of the State prior to the individual’s incarceration. An Act To Amend Title 24 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The Treatment Of Minors By Physicians Under The Medical Practice Act. [HB-456]
This act would require a physician or physician's assistant treating a person 15 years of age or younger to have another adult in the room when that child is disrobed, partially disrobed or otherwise undergoing certain physical examinations. An Act To Amend Titles 11, 24 And 29 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Training On Child Sexual And Physical Abuse, Exploitation And Domestic Violence And The Mandatory Reporting Thereof. [HB-457]
This act implements several recommendations made by Dean Linda Ammons and the Delaware Department of Justice concerning additional training for the medical community and law enforcement on the prevention of child sexual and physical abuse and mandatory reporting obligations. Sections 1 and 2 require that new physicians swear that they have reviewed and acknowledged their duty to report unprofessional conduct to the Board, and training on child abuse and related issues would be required as part of the renewal process.
