An Act To Amend Title 6 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Tax On Limited Liability Company. [HB-241]
This Act would increase the State tax levied and imposed on both domestic and foreign limited liability companies. All variables being equal, this increase would likely result in the generation of an additional $14.5 Million (approximately) in annual revenue for the State of Delaware.

An Act To Amend Title 11 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Specific Offenses And Sale And Distribution Of Tobacco Products. [HB-269]
This bill requires a person engaged in the sale or distribution of tobacco products to demand proof of age from a prospective purchaser or recipient of such products who is under the age of 27 years. A notice is to be posted conspicuously at each tobacco vending machine as well as at each point of purchase. Also, the bill makes it unlawful to maintain such products except in a tobacco vending machine in any display accessible to customers that is not under the control of a cashier or employee.

An Act Requiring Colonial School District To Return A Teacher Within The District To The Same Teaching Position Held Prior To Such Teacher’s Leave Under The Family And Medical Leave Act. [HB-275]
This Act makes clear that any full-time or part-time teacher in the Colonial School District who has satisfied all requirements to entitle the teacher to take leave under The Family and Medical Leave Act shall be returned to the same exact teaching position that the teacher held before taking such leave. In addition, the Act shall have no effect on and in no way alters the current levels of tenure and/or seniority among teachers in the Colonial School District.

This bill amends section 2306 of Delaware’s probate code as it relates to distribution of the decedent’s personal estate without the grant of letters by the Register of Wills when the decedent’s personal estate is valued at less than $30,000 (“the small estate affidavit”). An Act To Amend Title 10 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Reporting Financial Exploitation Of The Elderly And Infirm. [HB-302]
This bill is intended to encourage the reporting of suspected financial exploitation of the elderly and infirm adults by providing immunity from criminal and civil liability for making such reports. Under the bill, anyone who makes a good faith report to law enforcement authorities of such suspected activity is immune from criminal and civil liability for making that report.
