This Bill implements recommendations made by the Joint Sunset Committee following its review of the Board of Charitable Gaming. The Bill: 1) Combines into one chapter the three chapters for bingo, charitable gaming, raffles and Texas Hold’em Poker which currently govern the Board of Charitable Gaming. An Act To Amend Title 19 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The Persons With Disabilities Employment Protections Act. [SB-185]
Delaware employment discrimination law applies to employers of 4 or more employees within the State for all protected classes (race; marital status; genetic information; color; age; religion; sex; sexual orientation; gender identity; national origin) apart from disability. An Act To Amend Title 24 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Pawnbrokers, Secondhand Dealers And Scrap Metal Processors. [SB-194]
This Bill seeks to do four things. First, it brings the reporting requirements for pawnbrokers and secondhand dealers in line with those of the scrap metal processors. Next, it extends the deadline for reporting for scrap metal processors to close of business the next day. Third, it makes a clear exemption for businesses that take in trade ins as a substantial part of its business. Finally, it adds a cease and desist provision for those operating without a license.
