Time is money. The time and delay associated with the review of land use projects is often a factor in determining whether a potential employer will come to Delaware. This Act, the Bring New Jobs to Delaware Act, is intended to provide an expedited review process for projects likely to have significant economic impact and make Delaware more attractive to potential new employers. An Act To Amend Title 11 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Failure To Appear At Trial. [HB-108]
This Act increases the penalties for failure to appear at trial. Under present law it is often to a defendant’s advantage not to appear for trial, as the State’s witnesses often become less cooperative the more often they are required to appear. The longer the defendant is a fugitive, the less likely the State will be able to go forward with its case. The penalties for failure to appear at trial ought to be sufficient to encourage the defendant to appear as required. This Act also makes necessary and complimentary changes to the criminal contempt

An Act To Amend Title 11 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Sex Offenders And Sexual Offenses. [HB-136]
This Act increases the criminal penalties of 779A, Title 11 of the Delaware Code against a person who has previously been convicted of a sex offense and is on the sex offender registry who then commits a sex offense against a child under the age of twelve years. This Act would make the penalty for a sex offender who commits a sex offense classified as a misdemeanor against a child under twelve years of age a class C felony. This Act would make the penalty for a sex offender who commits a sex offense classified as a class C, D, E, F, or G felony
