An Act To Amend Title 11 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Crimes And Criminal Procedure. [SB-307]
This bill reflects the reality that grooming children for the purpose of committing crimes of sexual violence against them is often preceded by conduct that perpetrators know will make the child particularly susceptible to abuse. The bill requires proof that a person has engaged in three or more specific instances of conduct proscribed by the statute. An Act To Amend Title 21 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Consuming Alcoholic Beverages Or Marijuana. [HB-469]
While the consumption of marijuana while driving is an unclassified misdemeanor under § 4764(d) of Title 16 of the Delaware Code, this Act also makes the consumption of marijuana while driving a motor vehicle violation, like alcohol currently is. Thus, this Act enables law enforcement officers to charge a lesser offense and to use a traffic ticket rather than a criminal summons or warrant.
