An Act To Amend Title 9 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Kent County. [HB-169]
This Act eliminates the current Board of Assessment in Kent County and establishes a Board of Assessment Review. The Board of Assessment Review will consist of seven members that are paid per meeting as opposed to a salary and will perform those functions as established by Levy Court as well as those functions provided in the Code. The newly established Board of Assessment Review will oversee the appeals process and make additions, alterations or corrections concerning any assessment of property subject to taxation by the County. An Act To Amend Title 15 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Elections And Identification. [HB-200]
This bill is a companion bill to a constitutional amendment to allow the General Assembly to determine photographic and signature identification requirements to vote. This bill is modeled after Florida’s law. Thirteen states currently have approved such identification requirements (Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin).
