Immunity from liability for individuals rendering emergency care is addressed in many sections of the Delaware Code. There are several separate statutes providing immunity for specific professions and even for lay individuals providing specific types of assistance. Section 6715 of Title 16 provided immunity to Firemen, policemen or volunteer ambulance or rescue squad members rendering emergency care until it was transferred to § 6801 of Title 16 in 1971. An Act To Amend Title 7 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Types Of Fishing Equipment And Methods Used For Fishing For Food Fish. [SB-158]
This Act allows a person to land food fish in Delaware that was caught using equipment or a method illegal in Delaware waters if the food fish was caught in the fishery conservation zone, the person has the necessary State and federal permits, the amount of the food fish is in compliance with an established State quota, and the equipment or method is legal the fishery conservation zone. An Act To Amend Title 16, Title 21, And Title 29 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Free Identification Documents For Individuals Being Released From Prison. [SB-171]
Individuals who are released from prison face many hurdles as they re-enter the community, including difficulty obtaining identification documents. Lacking identification imposes additional hurdles as these individuals attempt to find housing and employment. This Act requires the Department of Correction to provide individuals who are being released from the custody of the Department of Correction ("DOC"), after 6 months of incarceration following conviction, with a Delaware Personal Credential Card ("Personal Credential"). There have been many economic impact reports done that show a positive impact from starting public schools after Labor Day. A report by the Virginia Hospitality and Travel Association estimates that $369 million would be lost if schools were not required to start after Labor Day.
