Excessive Use of Force Prevention Act of 2018 This bill amends the federal criminal code specify that the application of any pressure to the throat or windpipe which may prevent or hinder breathing or reduce intake of air (i.e., a chokehold) constitutes the deprivation of rights under color of law.

Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act of 2017 This bill amends the Public Health Service Act to require hospitals to implement and submit to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) a staffing plan that complies with specified minimum nurse-to-patient ratios by unit. Hospitals must post a notice regarding nurse-to-patient ratios in each unit and maintain records of actual ratios for each shift in each unit. Manufacturing Jobs for Veterans Act [HB-3963]
Manufacturing Jobs for Veterans Act This bill directs the Department of Labor, as part of the Veteran's Workforce Investment Program, to carry out a five-year Veterans Manufacturing Employment Program to award competitive grants to three states for the establishment and administration of a State Manufacturing Employment Program to make grants to manufacturing employers and labor-management organizations that provide training, on-job training, apprenticeships, and certification classes to eligible veterans.
