10.0pt;color:windowtext'>The purpose of this bill is to provide a rebuttable presumption that a professional firefighter who developed leukemia, lymphoma or multiple myeloma arising out of and in the course of employment as a firefighter provided that the firefighter completed certain cancer screening, the firefighter worked in West Virginia as a firefighter for at least five years, the firefighter has not used tobacco products for ten years and is not over sixty-five years old.

Allowing the expungement of certain felony convictions [HB-2532]
The purpose of this bill is to create the Second Chance for Employment Act. The bill provides a procedure for the expungement of certain nonviolent felony convictions and prohibits the expungement of certain felony convictions, including those causing serious injury, those involving deadly weapons, certain assaults and batteries, domestic violence and sexual offenses. The bill provides that no person is required to disclose such conviction unless asked by an employer or potential employer.

West Virginia Second Chance for Employment Act [HB-2536]
The purpose of this bill is to create the West Virginia Second Chance for Employment Act. The bill defines terms. The bill expands eligibility for criminal expungement to persons convicted of certain nonviolent felonies. The bill defines “nonviolent felony.” The bill provides exclusions to eligibility. The bill establishes timing for filing a petition for expungement.
