An act to amend the general municipal law, in relation to providing additional compensation to certain employees [AB-5950]
To provide additional salary compensation to New York City Police Officers, who possesses or utilizes a foreign language in the performance in their duties. This bill would also ensure an increase of up to fifty dollars in addition to the base salary for any Police Officer who possess or utilizes a foreign language in performance of their duties.

An act to direct the department of audit and control to study and make recommendations on the establishment and operation of a public retirement system for the benefit of employees of private providers of mental hygiene services [AB-5992]
This bill directs a study on the feasibility of creating a retirement system for mental hygiene non-for-profit services workers. This legislation will begin the process of creating a substantial incentive for direct-care workers that will help substantially lower the high turnover rates in this health care sector; thereby helping both workers and mental hygiene consumers.

An act to amend the tax law, in relation to pollution tax credits for the purchase of certain equipment made by dry cleaning businesses [AB-6102]
The bill is intended to reduce costs for small dry cleaning businesses faced with disproportionately expensive environmental compliance costs, by giving these businesses a sales tax exemption for the purchase of pollution prevention or control equipment. Subdivision (a) of S 1115 of the Tax Law is amended to add a sales tax exemption for dry cleaners for the purchase of equipment or machinery certified by the Department of Environmental Conservation that is used primarily to control, prevent or abate pollution or contaminants from their operations.

An act to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in relation to requiring the collection of recyclable materials at state parks, historic sites and recreational facilities; to amend the general municipal law, in relation to encouraging municipalities to establish and implement programs for the collection of recyclable materials that are discarded in parks, playgrounds, historic sites and other recreational facilities; and to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to providing state assistance therefor to municipalities [AB-6103]
The bill would reduce waste management costs for State and local governments by requiring recycling in parks, historic sites and other facilities, as well as encouraging users of these facilities to carry out the waste they generate.
