An act to amend the elder law and the economic development law, in relation to establishing the mature worker business initiative [AB-3887]
Establishes a mature worker business initiative within the state office for the aging. Creates a council to develop and implement a program to develop strategies and protocols for identifying businesses that are offering arrangements to employees that are designed to recruit and retain mature workers, to develop and certify employers who are "mature worker friendly employers", and design and implement a marketing outreach plan for encouraging the participation of businesses in the program.

A loan program would be established to expand on existing programs operated by the New York State Energy Research Development Authority to make energy audits and energy efficient technology implementation more readily available to small businesses in economically distressed areas. This program would be structured according to the existing NYSERDA low-interest loan program, whereby small commercial businesses are eligible to have certified energy audit specialists conduct energy audits of the business and make recommendations for energy efficient
