Relates to educating children on the harms of electronically sending and posting certain images of themselves. [AB-8622]
This bill would require the office of children and family services to establish an educational outreach program to promote the awareness of the potential long-term harm to adolescents' privacy that may arise from text messaging, emailing or posting on the internet images and photographs of themselves that are provocative in nature. Also, to provide an affirmative defense to young persons for certain acts with regard to the possessions and dissemination of such images and photographs of themselves.

Relates to causes of action against certain businesses arising in connection with the AED; provides that gross negligence by a business or employee must be shown; provides that a provider of an AED shall assure that anticipated users of AEDs are trained using a nationally recognized, evidence-based guidelines course. [AB-8741]
This bill would remove barriers to AED use by allowing persons to operate an AED other than as part of their employment, who act in good faith and with reasonable care, and without expectation of monetary compensation, even if they were not trained in the use of an AED.

Establishes the New York state tax on dry cask storage fund directing certain nuclear generating facilities to transfer certain monies in exchange for the storage of dry casks containing spent fuel. [AB-8762]
This bill will establish a New York State tax on the dry cask storage fund at any nuclear facility in New York State that is located in an emergency planning zone (EPZ) with a population exceeding two hundred thousand people. The funds in account may be expended for both development of renewable resources via NYSERDA with a priority for projects in schools and municipal buildings statewide and for reimbursement of related emergency expenditures by counties in the EPZ.
