An act to amend the tax law, in relation to providing a tax credit to individuals for up to five hundred dollars of expenses not compensated by insurance for the purchase of a qualified hearing aid [AB-1890]

An act to amend the administrative code of the city of New York and the emergency tenant protection act of nineteen seventy-four, in relation to making conforming technical changes; and to repeal paragraph 13 of subdivision a of section 5 of section 4 of chapter 576 of the laws of 1974 constituting the emergency tenant protection act of nineteen seventy-four, paragraph (n) of subdivision 2 of section 2 of chapter 274 of the laws of 1946, constituting the emergency housing rent control law, and section 26-504.2 and subparagraph (k) of paragraph 2 of subdivision e of section 26-403 of the administrative code of the city of New York, relating to vacancy decontrol [AB-2005]
This bill repeals provisions of New York State and New York City statutes that remove apartments from rent stabilization or rent control when such apartments are vacated and could be rented under such statutes for monthly rents of $2,000 or more.

An act to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to requiring school buses to have identification numbers printed on roof of such vehicles [AB-2045]
Section 1: Legislative Findings and Intent Section 2: Amends Section 1223-a of the Vehicle and Traffic Law by adding a new Subdivision (2) that requires all school buses to have identification numbers printed on the roof. Section 3: Directs the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, in conjunction with the Commissioner of Education, to promulgate rules and regulations regarding the identification numbers printed on the roof of school buses. Creates an authorities budget office; clarifies various points of the public authorities accountability act of 2005; establishes a whistleblower access and assistance program; adds provisions relating to public authorities lobbying contacts. [AB-2209]

Enacts the "safe staffing for quality care act" to require acute care facilities to implement certain direct-care nurse to patient ratios in all nursing units; sets minimum staffing requirements; requires every such facility to submit a documented staffing plan to the department on an annual basis and upon application for an operating certificate; requires acute care facilities to maintain staffing records during all shifts; authorizes nurses to refuse work assignments if the assignment exceeds the nurse's abilities or if minimum staffing is not present; requires public access to documented staffing plans; imposes civil penalties for violations of such provisions; establishes private right of action for nurses discriminated against for refusing any illegal work assignment. [AB-2264]
Authorizes the State Department of Health to require all acute care facilities to comply with regulations that utilizes an assessment tool to determine acuity of patient health needs to establish standards for appropriate staffing ratios of nursing staff.
