Eliminating exemption from hotel occupancy taxes on rental of hotel and motel rooms for thirty or more consecutive days [HB-4377]
The purpose of this bill is to allow county commissions and municipalities to impose their hotel occupancy taxes on hotel and motel rooms regardless of the length of time for which the hotel or motel room is rented. It also provides that the tax is not imposed on rooms rented to government officials on official business who are not reimbursed for the stay. Strike‑throughs indicate language that would be stricken from a heading or the present law, and underscoring indicates new language that would be added.

Assessing the health impact of any new, or modification to, rule proposed by the Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection [HB-4412]
The purpose of this bill is to require the Commissioner of Bureau for Public Health to conduct a public health impact statement assessing the health impact of any new air or water rule, or modification of an existing air or water rule, proposed by the Department of Environmental Protection to ensure that no air or water rule is promulgated without substantiating independent medical or scientific evidence that there is no detrimental public health impact from the rule. Relating to the PROMISE scholarship program [HB-4556]
The purpose of this bill is to limit the percentage of PROMISE scholarship awards to students at private, not-for-profit institutions in the state to no more than 10% of the moneys available for these awards until 2020.
