Relating to appraisal value of certain motor vehicles for purposes of ad valorem property taxes [HB-4195]
The purpose of this bill is to require each county assessor to determine the assessed value for any motor vehicle in an amount equal to sixty percent of the lowest values shown in a nationally accepted used car guide or sixty percent of $700, whichever is higher. A registered antique motor vehicle (as defined in WVC§17A-10-3a) not used for general transportation, would be assigned an assessed value of $5,000 for purposes of ad valorem property taxes.”                                               Â

Relating to reimbursement of certification fee for National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification [HB-4316]
The purpose of this bill is to make a technical improvement in the language for reimbursement of teachers for fees upon enrollment, completion or renewal of National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) certification. Currently completion is defined as submitting “ten scorable entries,” but the NBPTS has changed its definition several times over the years and the current statutory definition is no longer valid.
