Relating to relocation or closure of state higher education institutions [HB-2021]
The purpose of this bill is to insure that closure or transfer of any publicly-funded higher education institution be preapproved by the Legislative Oversight Commission on Education Accountability (LOCEA); to require both an economic and educational study to be presented to the LOCEA before it may be closed or transferred.

Relating to Public Defender Services [HB-2029]
 The purpose of this bill is to increase the hourly rate for attorneys providing Public Defender Services for in court and out of court work. The bill permits attorneys who spend at least 1200 hours per year on court appointed cases to enroll in the Public Employees Insurance Agency plans and requires the Executive Director of the Public Defender Services to propose rules, for legislative approval, that relate to requirements to enroll in the public employees insurance act.
