Relating to a student not advancing to the next grade by teacher recommendation [HB-2766]
The purpose of this bill is to provide that parents cannot overrule a teacher’s recommendation that a student not be advanced to the next grade unless the student is retested over summer break and can demonstrate proficiency in areas for which the teacher recommended the that the student not be advanced.

Relating to driving restrictions in school zones [HB-2897]
The purpose of this bill is to ensure the safety of students participating in school activities outside of regular school hours by requiring activation of school zone flashing beacons whenever students are present at school for activities occurring outside of a school’s regular hours of operation.
