H.R. 3391 - Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act 2.0
This bill extends the Gabriella Miller Kids First Pediatric Research Program at the National Institutes of Health, and makes amendments to the Public Health Service Act for better coordination and oversight of pediatric research initiatives funded by the government.
Short Title
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act 2.0’’.
Funding for Pediatric Research Initiative
The bill makes changes to the Public Health Service Act to extend funding for pediatric research programs until 2028.
Coordination of NIH Funding for Pediatric Research
The Director of the National Institutes of Health is encouraged to coordinate and oversee research activities related to pediatric cancer and other pediatric diseases to avoid duplication of efforts.
Report on Progress and Investments in Pediatric Research
The Secretary of Health and Human Services is required to submit a report to Congress detailing pediatric research projects and advancements made with funds allocated for pediatric research.
