An Act To Amend Title 16 Of The Delaware Code Relating To The Department Of Health And Social Services. [SB-219]
Delaware, like other states, is seeing a dramatic increase in heroin and opioid abuse and as a result is experiencing an increase in the number of people overdosing on these substances. This Legislation will increase the amount of the life-saving drug Naloxone in the community and specifically in the hands of the people most likely to discover someone who has suffered an overdose and who will be able to administer a dose of the medication while waiting for first responders to arrive. An Act To Amend Title 10 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Juvenile Expungements. [SB-233]
The continued existence and dissemination of juvenile criminal histories hampers an individual’s ability to be successful and productive member of society. These criminal histories are a hindrance to employment, education, housing and credit. It is often difficult for indigent children, especially those children in foster care, to overcome the hurdles required to obtain an expungement. This Act reorganizes the provision of many forensic sciences into a new Division of Forensic Science organized within the Department of Safety and Homeland Security. The proposed new Division of Forensic Science would consist of the operations previously organized in the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner within the Department of Health and Social Services. An Act To Amend Title 16 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Emergency Medication In Schools. [SB-246]
This Act would bring best practices to Delaware schools with respect to prevention of serious injury or death from anaphylactic reactions caused by an allergy or life-threatening crisis due to asthma. Delaware schools shall have Emergency Medications available for administration by the School Nurse or Trained Person to individuals showing symptoms of a life-threatening allergic or asthmatic reaction.

An Act To Authorize And Approve The Conveyance Of Certain Real Property In New Castle County To The Colonial School District And Providing For The Future Subdivision And Conveyance Of A Portion Of This Real Property To Faithful Friends. [SB-253]

An Act To Amend Delaware Laws Relating To Quality Assessment Fees On Nursing Facilities. [SB-257]
In 2012, the General Assembly passed Senate Bill No. 227 which established the "Quality Assurance Fund". Fees collected under this legislation are placed into the Fund and are in turn matched by federal Medicaid dollars resulting in increased Medicaid re-impressment rates for long term care providers. That legislation contained a Sunset date of December 31, 2015. This bill would merely extend that Sunset date until December 31, 2018.

An Act To Amend Title 11 Of The Delaware Code Relating To Crimes And Assault Weapons. [SB-37]
This act would add a new section 1462 to Title 11 of the Delaware Code and set in place a prospective prohibition against the manufacture, production, delivery, sale, or purchase of assault weapons. Persons who legally possess assault weapons at the time the act goes into effect may continue to possess them legally, but must provide proof of ownership to the Delaware State Police within 120 days of the effective date of the act. This bill will create a process to have an eleven-member Commission appointed every ten years to redistrict the Senate and House of Representatives of the Delaware General Assembly. “The Redistricting Commission for the State of Delaware” will consist of ten members appointed by the leadership of the House and Senate majority and minority parties.
