Bill Summary: WHO Withdrawal Act
This bill, introduced by Mr. Biggs and co-sponsored by several other members of the House of Representatives, directs the President to withdraw the United States from the Constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO). It also prohibits the use of any funds from federal departments or agencies to support the participation of the United States in the WHO or any successor organization.
The Act also repeals a previous law from 1948 that authorized the United States' membership and participation in the WHO and provided for an appropriation of funds for that purpose.
