Youth Summer Jobs and Public Service Act of 2017 This bill amends the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act to direct the Department of Labor to award grants to states to help local areas with high concentrations of eligible youth to carry out summer employment programs to provide those youth with summer employment opportunities directly linked to academic and occupational learning.

Intern Protection Act This bill prohibits certain employers from refusing to employ, discriminating against, or harassing interns because of age, race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, military status, disability, gender identity, predisposing genetic characteristics, marital status, or status as a victim of domestic violence. The bill bars employers from compelling a pregnant intern to take a leave of absence, unless the intern is prevented by such pregnancy from performing internship activities in a reasonable manner.
