HB-266: An Act To Allow Access for Law Enforcement Officers to the List of Registered Primary Caregivers for Medical Marijuana Patients
Explanation of Legislative Document No. 266
Explanation of Legislative Document No. 266
This bill is about giving law enforcement officers access to the list of registered primary caregivers for medical marijuana patients. These caregivers are people who help medical marijuana patients with their treatment.
The bill states that the records of these caregivers are usually confidential, but they can be shared with law enforcement officials for certain reasons. This includes cases where the officer needs to rule out a caregiver when investigating reports of criminal activity related to medical marijuana.
This change is to help law enforcement officials in their work while still protecting the privacy of medical marijuana patients and their caregivers.
