Criminal Procedure - Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kits - Analysis [SB-767]
Requiring that a sexual assault evidence collection kit be submitted to a forensic laboratory for analysis unless a certain requirement is met; requiring that a victim who wishes to remain anonymous and not file a criminal complaint be informed that the victim may initiate a criminal complaint at a future time; requiring a certain law enforcement agency that receives a sexual assault evidence collection kit to submit the kit and all requested associated reference standards for forensic analysis within 30 days of receipt of the kit; etc.
Criminal Procedure - Plea Agreement Terms and the Violence Prevention Initiative Criteria [SB-575]
Establishing that, if a court accepts a certain plea agreement with a certain sentence for a defendant charged with committing a crime of violence, the defendant shall serve the sentence imposed without reduction by diminution credits, parole, or otherwise; providing that a court or review panel may not modify a sentence imposed under a plea agreement in accordance with the Act; and altering the eligibility criteria for high-risk offenders for a program of increased supervision while on parole.
