The purpose of this bill is to authorize the State Board of Education to provide up to $225,000 per year, out of existing funds, for five years, to assist county boards of education in converting their maintenance vehicles to compressed natural gas or propane. The bill provides that a county board is responsible for 30 percent of the cost, the state board 70 percent.
