Altering the circumstances under which the payment of a benefit by a governmental unit or quasi-public corporation to a covered employee offsets the liability for benefits under the workers' compensation law; and stating that it is the intent of the General Assembly that the Maryland Association of Counties and the Professional Fire Fighters of Maryland jointly research and report data and analysis on the effects of the Act by December 1, 2024, to interested parties and certain committees of the General Assembly.

Health Insurance - Hearing Aids for Adults - Coverage [SB-397]
Requiring insurers, nonprofit health service plans, and health maintenance organizations that provide certain health insurance benefits under certain insurance policies or contracts to provide certain coverage for certain hearing aids for adults; authorizing a limit on the benefit payable of $1,400 per hearing aid every 36 months; and authorizing an insured or enrollee to choose a certain hearing aid and pay a certain amount for the hearing aid without financial or contractual penalty to the provider of the hearing aid.
