Relating to the sex offender registration act [HB-5502]
The purpose of this bill is to bring state law in compliance with the federal Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act by expanding the applicability of the Act to reflect federal law by modifying the reporting requirements and modifying penalties for persons convicted of sexual offenses that require the offender to register with the sex offender registry.

The purpose of this bill is to proscribe a new penalty that is subject to the value limitations of W. Va. Code §61-3-13, that the sentence provided for in subsection (c) be amended to become the exact same sentence for a violation of W. Va.
