The purpose of this bill is to create a Work/Incarceration Prison pilot program. The bill establishes guidelines for what offenders may be sentenced to the program. The bill provides for the establishment of one work/incarceration prison. The bill further provides that the Division of Corrections shall propose rules of operation and reporting. The bill provides that an offender sentenced to the work/incarceration prison is eligible for a reduction in their sentence. The bill also provides that an offender who is sentenced to the work/incarceration

The purpose of this bill is to relieve the burden imposed on counties and municipalities of incarcerating inmates in the state regional jails by changing the way the cost of incarcerating inmates in regional jails is paid so that it is shared by the state, counties and municipalities, where the alleged criminal act took place.

The purpose of this bill is to relieve the burden imposed on counties of incarcerating inmates in regional jails by changing the way that the cost of incarcerating inmates is collected so that it is shared by the state and county and municipality where the alleged criminal act occurs; to reduce the cost of incarceration for less than twenty-four hours to one-half the daily per diem charge; and to obligate the state to pay for regional jail operations, including labor and associated expenses.
