Explanation of S.B. No. 467
Senate Bill 467 is a proposed law that would require ballot propositions, or questions that voters are asked to vote on, to be clear and specific. This means that the propositions must be written in a way that clearly explains what the proposition is about and what the main features of the proposition are, so that voters are not confused or misled.
This law would only apply to elections held on or after September 1, 2017. Any elections held before this date would follow the previous laws regarding ballot propositions.
